THE first half of Knutsford Hockey Club men’s season will come to a crunch conclusion on Saturday.

The Black Knights, currently second in North Hockey League Division Two, host table-toppers Brooklands MU thirds at Knutsford Leisure Centre, pushback 2pm.

Knutsford, who have lost only once this season, will be looking to claw back some of the five-point gap that has opened up between them and the league leaders.

Last weekend’s clash with West Dersby was called off due to a frozen pitch.

Last time out, the Black Knights beat Windermere 4-0 at home.

That saw a return to winning ways after a draw at home to Keswick followed a 5-2 loss away to University of Liverpool.

Up until then, the Black Knights had gone seven games without defeat.

That was a sequence which included a 6-2 home success against Lytham St Annes on November 9 and a 5-1 triumph versus Liverpool Sefton back in October.

This weekend’s clash with Brooklands will be Knutsford’s last of 2019.

They will return to action away to Liverpool Sefton on January 11, 2020.

Meanwhile, Knutsford ladies will complete the first half of their campaign at home to Oxton seconds at Knutsford Leisure Centre on Saturday, pushback noon.

They will be looking to return to winning ways after consecutive losses to Wilmslow thirds 1-0 and Cheshire League Division Two leaders Whitchurch 4-2.

Knutsford are currently placed fifth on the ladder.
