LIZ Gardner was in dominant form as she won an EWGA medal at Alderley Edge Golf Club.

Gardner hit a fantastic round of 65, which allowed her to finish eight clear of nearest rival Jo McGregor.

Meanwhile, Simon Barker kept up his excellent form by picking up Alderley Edge’s Jubilee Vase at Alderley Edge Golf Club.

He finished on 38 points – one point clear of Chris Hoyland, Roy Parker and Chris Regan who all finished in a tie for second spot.

Barber had finished joint-second in Edge’s Thursday nine-holer alongside Matt Spiller, with Joe Yakub taking victory with 21 points.

Barry Arnold won a Seniors Stableford with 19 points – two clear of Alex Campbell – while Gary Buxton’s 23 points was enough to win the Sunday Stableford.

At Styal Gold Club, Division One of the men’s Stableford saw Pat Sharrocks rule the roost with 36 points. He finished one point clear of Matthew Sutcliffe and James Lister.

Ian Moss was out on his own in Division Two as he racked up 40 points – four more than second-placed Sebastian Burton.

Styal’s Junior Summer Plate was won in some style by Marco Cuarto, who shot a scorching 61 to send him clear of Doug Christopher (68) and Harry Craven (70).

Sam Hinchcliffe needed a cpo to edge out Sam Hall in the Sunday Stableford while Gayle Blackburn was first past the post in the women’s competition – she scored 31 points to beat Nancy Chorlton by three.
