PEOVER secured their Cheshire Cricket League Division Three status with a draw against Audlem at Wellbank Lane on Saturday.

Peover were asked to bat on a drying wicket and once again Stephen Price, 80, was the lynchpin of the innings as the home side lost wickets on a regular basis. Peover were dismissed in the 44th over for 142.

Quick inroads were made into the Audlem batting line, which never looked like attempting to chase down the total.

Jones, 2-36 from 11 overs; M Nightingale, 2-12 off 14 overs; Suryavanshi, 1-11 from 12 overs; were the pick of the bowlers as Mitchell looked to rotate his attack to find a way through the obdurate Audlem defence.

Audlem finished on 87-6 from 46 overs.

Peover travel to Frodsham for their final league game of 2019.
