WILMSLOW rider Sam West is tackling the Southern 100 races in Isle of Man this week.
The 31-year-old is looking for a good week, following a disappointing TT when poor weather impacted on many riders’ performances.
He had sacrificed the North West 200 in order to concentrate on the TT.
In Tuesday’s second and last practice in dry conditions West moved from 20th place to sixth and seventh respectively in the 600cc and 1000cc classes.
Race action started on Wednesday night.
West finished a very respectable seventh and sixth in the 600cc and 1000cc races up against the best riders in the business.

This morning things got better for West, who placed second in the 1000cc Island Aggregates Senior Race against an international star field.
