JOE Bradshaw came out on top in a Wednesday stableford at Styal Golf Club.

His 36 points put him ahead of Jim Slavin, 34, and Mark Window and Andy Rose, both 33.

Styal’s ever-busy seniors were in white tee medal mode and Paul Jones led in with 68 from John Parr, 70, and Paul Lawday, David Fitzgerald and Keith Chappell, all 71.

Some slick footwork was shown in a waltzing team stableford with R Rowland, D Wrigley and S Weaver easing home by a point from M Collier, J Folds and J Parr.

The women at Styal were in medal action and Enid Laverty showed her class with a neat 69, putting her first past the post ahead of Joan Chapman, 70, and Joan Andrews, 71.

Mel Hill stood tall in a Styal ladies stableford, posting 36 points to finish well clear of Pat Chadwick, 32, and Diana Hutchinson, 30.

A Friday nine-hole frolic at Styal was won by Jake Foster with 22 points. Jordan Howard, 21, and Hayden Cook, 18, were the closest rivals.

The Terry Evans monthly medal for Styal’s men saw Steven Page in top form, posting 65 to lead in from James Lister, 68, and Patrick Sharrocks, 69.

The second round of the Hospital Trophy at Alderley Edge featured Rick Ford out on his own with 62, three less than Andrew Boyle.
