MARK Newall amassed the highest break of the campaign to date when Mobberley A thrashed visiting Tatton in the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top-flight.
His run of 49 was one of the highlights as the reigning champions racked up 504 points – only the ninth time a team has passed 500 in the competition’s history.
Mike Roylance contributed 112 of those in his frame success.
A battle for second spot continues to be hard-fought, and a 5-2 win for Brook Street A against Mobberley B sees them lead the chasing pack for now.
Shaw Heath edged out Alderley Union in the other game on Thursday.
Mobberley D closed to with a point of the second promotion place in Division Two following a whitewash of Mere C.
Front-runners Wilmslow Cons, victors at closest-rivals Mere B, extended their lead to 10 points.
