SKIPPER Amanda Bennison led by example as Alderley Edge Hockey Club’s women’s firsts fought back for the second week running.
They found themselves on the back foot in their North Premier League clash with Whitley Bay & Tynemouth and they fell behind after 11 minutes.
Bennison levelled the scores just before the half-time interval, setting up the platform for Edge to hunt for back-to-back wins.
They held their nerve and secured the victory late on when Bennison slotted home a trademark short-corner deflection just before the final whistle.
They head to Liverpool on Saturday eager to extend their winning run to three matches.
Meanwhile, the women’s fifths extended their unbeaten start to the season to 11 matches with a 3-1 win over Crewe Vagrants.
