A RACE to be promoted to the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top-flight has seen two teams move clear.

Wilmslow Cons lead the way following a 6-1 hammering of Mobberley D while Mere B are a point adrift after beating clubmates Mere C by the same score.

Mobberley C recorded a much-needed win on aggregate at home to Wilmslow RBL.

Mark Newall’s run of 40 was a highlight for Mobberley A when they beat Mobberley B in a Division One encounter by a flattering 5-2 score-line.

Brook Street A moved clear in second spot after prevailing at Tatton, where they will play home matches from next season, and Alderley Union proved too strong for hosts Mere A.

Andy Towers racked up 106 points in his frame success against Chris Bushell.
