Ben Rhydding 7 Wilmslow 1
WITH a squad depleted by injury, Wilmslow travelled to Yorkshire to face one of the county’s top-five sides.
They gave a spirited account of themselves but the absence of skipper, Ben James, in defence told on the scoreline as they slipped into the relegation zone.
The men's seconds retained top spot in their league thanks a 4-3 win against Triton.
Wilmslow were completely dominant in the middle period of the match to go 4-1 up but relaxed towards the end as they conceded twice.
The thirds romped to a 5-0 win against Liverpool Sefton's thirds, while the fourths also had an easy day at Alderley beating their sixths 6-0.
With a weakened side and a makeshift goalkeeper, the fifths faced a stiff test at home against Didsbury Northern's sevenths.
It ended 0-0 but Wilmslow stay top of their division.
