Blackburn 22 Warrington 21
WARRINGTON almost pulled off an amazing comeback on Saturday, but they fell agonisingly short against Blackburn.
They trailed 22-9 going into the final 10 minutes but ended up just a point away from claiming a draw.
However, they were forced to settle for the consolation of a losing bonus point.
“A very close match which could have gone either way,” head coach Andy Roberts said.
“We were unable to take the opportunities presented, but another losing bonus point is a little consolation.”
Luke Emmitt kicked three penalties for Warrington, but Blackburn scored three tries to seemingly take control.
Two carbon-copy rolling maul tries from Christian White gave the visitors hope, but they ran out of time.
