KNUTSFORD’S rugby players are in line to receive an unexpected promotion bonus after the North West Intermediate League published a provisional constitution for next season.
It includes Blues in Division Three South, one level higher than they played at last term.
Sam Bensky’s side missed out on a place inside the top two despite winning 17 of their 24 matches.
Instead Moore finished as runners-up to neighbours Lymm fourth to claim the second promotion position.
However a restructure has created a vacancy that will be filled by Knutsford, thereby meaning they have climbed a step on each of their two seasons in the competition since leaving the RFU’s Northern Division.
A note on the league’s official website says the line-up was decided upon following their annual meeting and discussions with the county governing bodies in Cheshire and Lancashire.
They have asked for comments by Saturday.
Holmes Chapel have been included in a 14-strong Division Two South.
The men from Station Road will be optimistic too after finishing fourth in their first campaign at that level after three successive promotions.
Rivals that finished above them have all moved up a level.
A new season is scheduled to start on September 1.
