SPARKS lead the way in a race for the Mid Cheshire Super League title following a whitewash of lowly Manweb.

Peter Davies, John Perry and Dave Southall were flawless in the singles, although John Ashbrook and Dave Nelson took the doubles to a deciding set.

Tigers sit second in the standings, seven points further back, following a 7-3 win at Raptors during which Winston Duff and Craig Lee claimed maximums.

Wreckers returned to winning ways after prevailing 7-3 at Cobras.

Lemmings made the most of an opportunity provided by leaders Daresbury slipping up, and rise to the Division Two summit following a 9-1 demolition of Valiants.

Mark Darlington and Gail Johns won each of their singles rubbers, while Alan Lenton helped their opponents avoid a whitewash.

Daresbury lost 8-2 at Bears, for whom Paul Curley and Steve Stockton had an unblemished evening, while Mark Baker and Garry Owen did the same for Winsford at Hawks.

Wolves recorded a seventh successive win in Division Three, but they were tested by Snakes.

Mike Perks was unbeatable for the visitors, and joined forces with Andy Beswick to triumph in the doubles.

However their side still lost on aggregate.

Vikings whitewashed Wanders, while Rangers were grateful to John Mullin for his display in a 6-4 success away to Kinetics.
