WILMSLOW Wolves are due to face Manchester at Grove Lane, Cheadle Hulme, on Saturday.
The match is a rearranged one, with the clash having been postponed earlier in the season.
Wolves were left without a fixture last weekend.
Friday night’s rain left the The Memorial Ground pitch absolutely sodden with surface pools of water.
Referee Mark Hiney from Cheadle inspected the pitch on Saturday morning well before the Vale of Lune coach had left Lanacaster and declared the pitch unplayable.
The club’s annual re-union lunch, however, continued with more than 100 past players turning up.
With no rugby to watch on the pitch, they had to settle for International rugby on the club’s wide screen television.
