BIG-HITTING students at Wilmslow High School have done it again.

Charlie Hodge, Tom Wilson and Ben Hamilton-Ryan provided emergency cover a few weeks ago to help the depleted under 15s team reach the Cheshire indoor cricket finals and now they have contributed to their own age group matching the feat.

They were joined by Harry Whitmore, Max Davidson, Jack Rae and Will Espley in comfortably overcoming the opposition to progress to the under 13s deciding event.

Crucial victories in the qualifying tournament came against Poynton High School and Macclesfield Academy.

WHS rattled Poynton by getting them all out for 44 runs after 5.4 overs.

In response, Wilmslow had the win sewn up after four overs as they assembled 46-3.

Davidson led the way as the man of the match.

Against Macclesfield it was nearly all one-way traffic.

They achieved 61-3 in six overs before skittling Macc for just seven runs in 3.2 overs.

Skipper Wilson stood out with his man-of-the-match performance.

Both Macclesfield Academy and Poynton will be sick of the sight of Hodge, Wilson and Hamilton-Ryan as they had also squared up in the under 15s event.
