GEORGE Bell rang out a good tune as he rustled up an unbeaten 73 runs for Alderley Edge's third XI on Sunday.
But that effort was not enough to secure victory against Sale.
His strongest partnerships came with fellow opener Harry Elms, 27, and number six bat Andrew Towle, 39, as Edge accumulated 175 for five in 45 overs.
Elms, 2 for 46, then led the wicket taking but Sale got home in the 41st over on 179 for 4, with wicket-keeper Sam Battersby, 54, their leading run maker.
