A FIGHT to finish as runners-up to Mobberley A in the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top-flight will be decided this week.
Alderley Union moved four points clear in second spot after brushing aside Mobberley B last time out, while previous occupants Shaw Lane slipped to third after a 6-1 thrashing by the recently-crowned champions.
The rivals for the runners-up spot meet tonight, Thursday.
Morley’s relegation has been confirmed following a 5-2 reverse at Brook Street A, while Tatton appear most likely to join them after they lost on aggregate at Wilmslow Cons A.
Mobberley C, who were 4-3 victors over Mere B last time out, will be confirmed as Division Two champions if results go their way in the next round of matches.
Wilmslow Cons B stay second, but neighbours Wilmslow RBL are only four points further back after easing past back-markers Mere C in a 6-1 victory.
