TWO junior teams from a Holmes Chapel club have raised more than £600 to buy a defibrillator.
Youngsters from the under 8 and under 14 teams at Holmes Chapel Hurricanes have spent the past year raising the money to buy the equipment.
Simon Lincoln, who manages both teams, told the Guardian: "I have been beating the drum for quite a long time to sort one out.
"I have my coaching qualifications and I did my resits in first aid a while back and we did a bit of defibrillators. We can have hundreds watching the games, from parents to grandparents, so I thought it would be good to raise money to buy one.
"We have set up a Fantasy League for the Premier League, which parents have paid £10 into and we have food stalls on match days. Everyone has worked tirelessly to raise these funds."
After approaching the health authority, Simon arranged for the defibrillator to be delivered to the club last week.
"It's the only thing that we don't want to use really and we don't want to take it out of the box," he added.
