WILMSLOW Hockey Club women's team defeated a feisty Urmston side 2-0.

The margin would have been greater had Wilmslow been able to convert the number of chances they created.

Both sides were determined to win the match from the first whistle, but Wilmslow had more to give than Urmston and dominated the match.

They were rewarded with their first goal when Annika Hall smashed the ball home, and shortly afterwards, Jacq Morgan took on the goalkeeper alone and fired into the net.

Wilmslow's men’s first team beat Winnington Park 3-1, with smashing goals from Andy Hunt, Ric Pheiffer and an outstanding penalty flick by Martin Wright.

The women's second team put in an outstanding performance against Timperley, winning 8-1 with Louise Charlesworth, Jenny Nurmi and Grace Kerner scoring two goals each. Maddie Troup and Jenna Mapes also netted.

The women's third string, however, lost 2-1 to Timperley.

The men’s second team beat Winnington Park 3-2, the thirds won 3-1 against Triton men’s, while the men’s fourths lost 3-1.

Wilmslow's under 15s boys' side triumphed spectacularly against Lymm 11-0.
