A man who was found in a street with “significant injuries” appears to have suffered a fall, police have said.
Officers have been trying to establish how the 28-year-old, who was discovered in Fraser Street, Inverness, had been hurt.
Police Scotland said later: “It appears the man has suffered a fall and been injured as a result.”
The force is appealing for anyone who was in the area between 2.30am and 2.50am on Sunday to contact them.
The street was closed for a while for investigations to take place, but it has now reopened to traffic.
