CHILDREN from St Vincent's Primary School have been busy supporting a Knutsford-based charity called Kasupe.

They recently completed a sponsored walk around Tatton Park to raise money for a new school which is under construction in Malawi, giving them an insight into the distances children had to walk on a daily basis to get to school, before the school was built.

The charity has so far managed to raise enough money to build four classrooms and an administration block. The aim is to continue to fundraise until Kasupe can afford to double the capacity from 360 pupils, and to equip the school with books, pencils and hopefully computers with solar panels to run them.

St Vincent's pupils are pictured handing over a cheque for £2,261.80 to the founder of the charity, Davy Chilakalaka and two of the trustees, Charlotte and Ian Grainge.

The trustees would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff, pupils, parents and friends of St Vincent's school for their help and support.
