THIRTY-FOUR ramblers joined the coach for the very short trip to the leisure peninsula of West Kirby.
A series of drop-offs was required and so there was a good tour before walking.
The A group, led by Karen Midgley, alighted first at New Brighton.
They took a 20-mile route around the coast to Thurstason and then back to West Kirby.
The B group started from Heswall. Chris Davies took them over Thurstaston Hill, through Caldy and on to Hilbre point before returning to West Kirby to complete 10 and a half miles.
The D group, led by Judy Cross, strolled from Thursaston visitor centre to West Kirby where they waited for the tide to go out before visiting Hilbre Island.
Penny Clarke led the C group. From West Kirby they walked to the Wirral Park visitor centre and then over Thursaston and Caldy hills and back into town after nine miles. The weather was good and there were ample refreshment opportunities upon our return.
