THIS month’s meeting of Lower Peover WI was on Wednesday, November 4, in Lower Peover’s school hall.

AGM was held, where the standing committee and officers all agreed to stay in place for another year. The financial statement was presented and agreed.

Olivia Norbury demonstrated how to construct a Christmas wreath and table top decoration using all natural materials.

Following Olivia’s motivating demonstration several members are planning to make their own seasonal wreaths.

Christmas events were planned, including afternoon tea for the book club and an evening meal for the group.

The darts team invited any members to join them, to practice and to have fun. The WI challenge is gathering together personal information of ‘A moment in time’.

This will form part of a larger display in Chester, next year.

The quiz team for the February group quiz was organised.

We held a minute’s silence for our friend and fellow member, Norma Leech, who has recently died. Norma has been an important part of our WI, being a member for over 60 years; she has held all offices at some time and has been on our committee. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go to her family.

Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month in the school hall in Lower Peover.

Everyone is very welcome. It would be a great way to start the New Year, to make new friends and maybe meet old friends.
