PLUMLEY Probus met at the Golden Pheasant on October 13 and the speaker was Helen Tenwolde of Alderley Hearing Centre.
She spoke about various hearing problems, particularly clarity of hearing (which tends to affect people after 50), and the need to obtain appropriate treatment.
She gave a short test by way of demonstration and a number of members were surprised that they did not do too well.
The speaker on October 27 was one of the club’s own members, Martin Gaffney.
Martin is a retired police officer, who served with Greater Manchester Police and his subject was “the Strangeways Riots 1990 and a whole lot more".
