Cranford WI by Sue Patterson
President, Eileen Podmore welcomed members and two visitors to the September meeting of Cranford WI.
Tickets were on sale for the institute harvest lunch on November 4, and also for the autumn group meeting on October 24.
Eileen introduced the guest speaker, Geoff Scargill who gave an extremely interesting talk about Chetham's School, Manchester. He talked about the history of the school, how the oldest parts dated back to the 1400's and how it had evolved down the centuries to become a world renowned music school. Vice president, Judyth Fryer gave the vote of thanks.
The competition was won by Pat Sandford.
The next meeting will be on October 7 at 2pm in the Jubilee Hall, Knutsford. New members and guests are always welcome.
