Jodrell Side WI by Pat Alston
The talk at the recent meeting at Jodrell Side WI was on the history of the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe. There was an insight into the background of the buildings and the variety of well known artists who had appeared there in the past.
A number of members attended the Dane Valley Group 'Brides Revisited' exhibition where the beautiful gowns were shown off by lovely models, the afternoon also included an excellent afternoon tea.
Thirteen members enjoyed a six mile circular walk taking in several pretty villages along the Weaver towpath, ending with a lovely pub lunch at the Hayhurst Arms on the village green at Bostock Green.
There was also a visit to Liverpool with a very interesting tour around the magnificent synagogue and a walk on Crosby beach to view the Anthony Gormley sculptures.
