A WILDERSPOOL legal firm has raised £1,000 for a charity which raises awareness and educates people on autism.

Employees at Primas Law pledged to walk at least 10,000 steps each day which cumulated in more than 700 miles and 1.4 million steps.

The firm marked the end of the fund-raising week with a weekend walk across Crosby Beach with the charity.

Autism is a lifelong disability that affects how people communicate and interact with the world.

There are approximately 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.

Beth Wheatley, associate at Primas Law and participant in the ‘Walk for Autism 2019’ daily challenge, said: “After meeting with Autism Initiatives, part of the National Autistic Society, we were inspired to help make a difference.

“I’m pleased to say that all of our team managed to walk 10,000 steps across the week, with the daily walking lunch sessions providing us all with a boost to our step count.

“Autism Initiatives organise vital fundraising treks and walks throughout the year to help supplement the services they provide that are vital to thousands of people.

"Hopefully our contribution will make a difference and we can continue supporting the charity and the outstanding work that they do."
