TWEMLOW has been hit by a vandalism attack in protest against plans to build a biogas plant in the village.
Spray paint has been used to write the words 'no to waste plant' on the wall of the former Ministry of Defence fuel depot in Twemlow Lane.
Crosses have also been painted over CRES (Community Renewable Energy Scheme) Biogas signs.
The graffiti attack took place between 11.30pm on Sunday, September 9, and 7.15am on Monday, September 10.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: The areas targeted were Goostrey Petrol Storage Depot, two residential properties and numerous signs in Twemlow Lane and Goostrey Lane.
"CRES Biogas is a renewable energy scheme which has proposed a site at Goostrey petrol storage depot on Twemlow Lane."
Anyone with information about the vandalism or who saw anything suspicious should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 139 of September 10.
