A CHARITY founded by Sir Bobby Charlton to improve the lives of individuals and communities around the world affected by landmines is celebrating its first anniversary with the launch of a website.
Find A Better Way, based in Over Peover, was registered on March 29, 2011, and has raised more than £1 million.
Sir Bobby visited Cambodia in 2007, and saw the devastating impact land mines have on those who live in areas littered with the hidden threat.
He learned that current humanitarian land mine detection methods are based on techniques that have seen little change since the Second World War. Inspired by his vision, Find A Better Way supports research into developing better equipment for humanitarian demining activity.
It also supports education programmes to help reduce the potential impact of land mines.
The development of a new website, findabetterway.org.uk, will support its fundraising, research and education activities and help raise awareness of land mines.
