HARRY Style’s X-Factor dream came to an end on Sunday when he and his One Direction bandmates were voted out of the reality show final.
Around 20 million people tuned in to watch the Holmes Chapel teenager perform Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn, the first song he ever performed with the group.
But the boy band, who have been championed by music mogul Simon Cowell, lost the X-Factor crown to Matt Cardle, from Essex.
One Direction came in third place with Liverpool’s Rebecca Ferguson in second place.
It came as a blow to the 16-year-old’s supporters who held a party in Holmes Chapel to celebrate the final and eagerly anticipate the results.
The party was held at Ash Sherlock’s house as she is one of Harry’s best friends from Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School where he sat his GCSES in the summer.
Ash’s mum Vicky said: “We all got together as a village to support Harry and One Direction and there was 200 of us and a real party atmosphere.
“We were all gutted but we know Harry and the boys are going to make it anyway.
“We are very proud of where they got to in the competition.”
Despite losing the contest, One Direction are rumoured to have signed a £1million recording deal with Simon Cowell who thinks they could make it big in America.
