THE campaign to save Shannon Boam’s sight has been given a cash boost.
Brave Shannon, from Rensherds Place, High Legh, suffers from a rare disease called Peter’s Plus Syndrome which has made her virtually blind.
The Guardian is trying to raise funds for pioneering treatment so that she can read and write one day.
Beverley Furness, of Northwood Lane, High Legh, has donated £2,700 on behalf of Halo Furnishings in Altrincham.
She said: “We all thought our support would make a real difference to help a little girl in our local area.
“So I was delighted to be able to send our cheque to Shannon and her family.
“We hope she can start her treatment in the near future.”
Meanwhile, Knutsford solicitor Marco Dellapina, who helped set up Shannon’s trust fund, has donated £636.
Marco was touched by the Guardian’s appeal as his daughter Rosa was seriously ill with meningitis when she was very young.
Rachel Vale, of Lowland Way, has also pledged to donate a portion of the ticket price to Shannon’s appeal from an evening of opera at Leicester Warren Hall, which is due to take place on October 15.
