FAMILIES in the Knutsford area are being urged to make a New Year’s resolution to make the most of the support available to them in 2010.

Knutsford Children’s Centre provides a variety of services and resources for parents and carers of children aged from birth to five.

As part of a drive to raise awareness of the support available, staff from private, voluntary and independent day care providers were invited to an open evening.

Centre manager Sue Kenyon and Pedagogue Janine Sayle explained how families can benefit from the services on offer.

These include stay and play sessions, family support, parenting courses, post-natal and ante-natal clinics, well baby clinics, first aid sessions and child safety courses.

Clr Paul Findlow, cabinet member with responsibility for children and families, said: “Children’s centres are designed to make life better for children, parents and communities by bringing together early education, childcare and health and family support.

“Through our relationships with day care providers, we hope to reach families in the Knutsford area who may not be aware of the services available.

“Parents and carers are welcome to pop into the centre to find out what help and support is available to them in 2010 and beyond.”
