A SPINE-TINGLING haunted castle where Frankenstein springs back to life is attracting gasps of shock and amazement.
Fun-loving dad Dan McCaffery has once again turned his garden into a spooktacular Halloween horror.
This year he has created a huge fortress full of ghoulish surprises.
A creepy Frankenstein monster sits up on a table at the touch of a button.
Spooky witch Lethal Lily who moves her eyes and blinks is just of 12 ghoulish animatronics.
A graveyard, headless horseman, giant spider and banjo playing skeletons are just some of the many other eerie attractions.
Dan, from Holmes Chapel, said: “People driving by are absolutely amazed, saying ‘Oh my God, what’s that?
“I’ve always loved Halloween and enjoy doing this.
“It’s gets bigger and crazier every year.”
Dad-of-two Dan started his decorating his home when his children, Finn, 11, and Ella, eight, were growing up.
The family has been raising funds for St Luke’s Hospice for the past four years and hope to top last year’s figure of £360.
“My wife Katie’s dad, Peter Rawlinson, died five years ago,” said Dan.
“The hospice did such an amazing job looking after him, we wanted to give something back.
“It’s a great charity.”
Dan, who works at Morreys DIY store, started his painstaking labour of love in August.
“I decided to build a castle this year,” he said.
“There’s a lightening effect in the window and a silhouette of Dracula.
“I built my own Frankenstein. The kids are quite impressed as he will rise up off the table if you press a button so it’s a bit interactive this time.
“The children helped me to make some mad scientist equipment, water bubbling in pipes and jars.”
A spooky witch called Lethal Lily, shipped over from America last year, continues to mesmerise visitors.
Dan said: “Lily looks like an animatronic in a Disneyland theme park.
“She has eight servo motors in her head to make her move and give her a realistic look.”
Another new addition is giant inflatable octopus tentacles dangling out of Ella’s bedroom window.
The spectacle now has so many attractions, Dan is running out of storage space.
He said:“Every year, we pack it all into our fully boarded loft but we’ve got so much, we’ll have to put some things into my mother-in-law’s garage.
“I keep buying new things, I can’t help myself.
“I’m just a kid at heart.”
Dan’s ‘Medway Manor Haunt Extravaganza’ is on Station Road, near the roundabout at the bottom of Manor Lane.
To support St Luke’s Hospice, people can text ‘GHOST’ to 70085 and automatically donate £3 to the charity.
