VILLAGERS in Over Peover are being urged to support the country’s war heroes and their families.
Residents are invited to put a large poppy on a tree outside their home or sponsor one in the street.
All proceeds will be donated to the Poppy Appeal, funding the work of the Royal British Legion, the country’s largest armed forces charity.

Zoe Watson, a volunteer for the Royal British Legion in Over Peover, said: “We need to raise more money.
“We don’t think many people are aware that they can buy big poppies and put them on a tree or post in front of their home.
“They could also buy one for their car or sponsor one for the street.
"We can put the poppies up for them and take them away after November 11.
"So far, only two large poppies have been sponsored in the village and we are desperate for more."
A large street poppy costs £10 and a car poppy is £5.
All of the money helps provide support for members of the armed forces community.
This ranges from providing expert advice and guidance to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as transitioning to civilian life.
To buy or sponsor a large poppy call Sue Roycroft on 07887 892715.
