POLICE are investigating a burglary at an award-winning fish and chip shop.
Cheshire Police have launched an appeal for information after Hooked on the Heath in Knutsford was broken into.
In the early hours of Friday morning (September 13), an unknow offender climbed through a window into the chippy, later running from the scene.
A spokesperson for the police said: “At 5.55am on Friday, police were called to reports of an incident at a fish and chip shop on the Heath in Knutsford.
“The caller reported witnessing a man climbing through a velux window.
“Officers attended the scene and found that there had been a burglary at the premises and the offender had fled the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.”

Hooked shared news of the break-in with their customers via social media.
Thankfully, the shop was able to open as usual over the weekend.
A staff member said: “Unfortunately in the early hours of Friday morning we had a break in at our shop!
“If anyone has any information or CCTV or dashcam footage of our shop, car park or nearby roads between the hours of 4am and 6am please contact us or the police.
“Thank you everyone for support, especially the police and local businesses who have already offered great assistance.”
