A MUM’S plea to make sure all children have a warm coat is being made again this winter.
Gemma Jackson launched the Wrap Up Knutsford Community Coat scheme during the pandemic in 2020.
Since then, she has provided hundreds of coats for girls and boys, thanks to the generosity of local residents.

The mum-of-three is passionate about sustainability, keen to prevent clothes going to landfill and support families.
She is appealing for people to donate their outgrown, good condition warm winter coats to help others.
Gemma said: “Wrap Up Knutsford is back for 2024.
“However, the scheme completely relies on the incredible generosity of our community.
“Each coat donated not only helps someone stay warm during the winter months but also supports sustainable living by extending the life of the coat.
“Children grow so fast and coats tend to last them one season, so by donating your old coats, you’re helping a local child stay warm whilst also protecting the planet. It’s a win-win!”
Wrap up Knutsford is a reminder that small actions like donating a coat you no longer need can have a big impact on both people and the environment.
It’s a simple yet powerful way to give back to the community while embracing a more sustainable lifestyle.
Gemma added: “Wrap Up Knutsford is a local initiative dedicated to supporting the community by collecting and redistributing warm coats.
“Through the power of community generosity and sustainable practices, we aim to help everyone stay warm.
“Anyone can take a coat, irrespective of your circumstances. The coats are there for all.”
Coats can be dropped off at Knutsford Methodist Church, behind the church at the community entrance, Knutsford Town Council office on Toft Road or Knutsford Beauty Salon on Mansion Drive until Saturday, September 21.
Anyone wishing to take a coat can collect one from the Picnic in The Park event on Sunday, September 22, from 12-4pm on St Helena’s Field, beside Adeleide Heath Academy in Longridge.
