A DRIVER caught jumping red traffic lights has been hit with a £400 court penalty.
Ross Miller, of Sandleigh Avenue, Knutsford, pleaded guilty to the offence at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on August 15.
The 34-year-old failed to comply to a red traffic light signal as he drove a Volkswagen on Churchill Way at the junction with King Edward Street in Macclesfield on April 19, this year.
Miller was fined £224 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £89 victim surcharge.
His driving licence was also endorsed with three points.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
A conviction for jumping a red light is valid for three years and will stay on a licence for four years and must be declared during this time when applying for insurance.
The £403 court penalty must be paid by October 10.
