A MAN who got behind the wheel while being more than six times the legal drug limit has been banned from the road.
Neil Smith, of Southfields, Knutsford, admitted drug-driving when the case was heard at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on August 7.
The 55-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Golf on Town Lane and Mobberley Road in Mobberley on May 23, this year, when he was stopped by the police.
A subsequent blood test recorded Taylor had no less than 309µg/L of Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine, in his system.
The legal limit for this drug is 50µg/L.
Disqualification is obligatory for drug-driving offences, the court heard.
Smith was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
The defendant was banned from driving for 18 months.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
