A DRIVER who stopped on a pelican crossing has been hit with a £400 court penalty.
The case against Gillian Ashton, of Vale Road, Wilmslow, was heard at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on July 18.
The 46-year-old was charged with stopping a Land Rover on a pelican controlled area of Church Street in Wilmslow at 6.20pm on January 30, this year.
Magistrates found the case proved after listening to the evidence.
Ashton was fined £220 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £88 victim surcharge.
Her driving licence was also endorsed with three points.
Magistrates gave the defendant until August 29 to pay the £398 court penalty in full.
