A DRIVER caught using a mobile phone whilst behind the wheel on a motorway has been hit with a £400 court penalty.
Chelsea Whittaker, of Water Lane, Wilmslow, was charged with using a handheld phone whilst driving a car.
The case was heard at Manchester Magistrates Court on June 13.
The 24-year-old was clocked by police using a mobile phone whilst driving a Ford Ka in Manchester on the M60 between junctions 14 and 15 on November 8, last year.
After listening to the evidence, magistrates found the case proved.
Whittaker was fined £220 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £88 victim surcharge.
Her driving licence was also endorsed with six points.
Magistrates ordered her to pay the £398 court penalty in full by July 25.
