LIVE music and family fun will entertain the bank holiday crowds in Wilmslow.

The town’s first-ever Wilmslow Live takes place next Saturday (May 25).

Organised by Wilmslow Business Improvement District (BID) on behalf of town centre businesses, the event will celebrate the very best of local talent.

Lisa Russett, Wilmslow BID Manager, said: “We can’t wait for the first-ever Wilmslow Live!

“We’re delighted to be able to showcase local talent and with lots of options for food and drink and family-friendly activities on offer we’re confident it’s going to be a fantastic day with a brilliant atmosphere.”

The main stage in Bank Square, hosted by Silk FM, will see live performances from midday to 6pm.

The Neil Matthews Band kicks things off, followed by performances from Aura Music Academy, Wilmslow High School’s Sunstate Band, the all-female Siren Sounds choir and Alderley and Wilmslow Musical Theatre Group.

Singer-songwriter Jess Scragg, soul and funk band Violet Line and Indie folk/pop musician Black Sheep Lad complete the line-up.

Elsewhere, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained at the Wilmslow ’24 Family Fun Zone.

Located in Bank Square and the bottom of Green Lane, the area will feature mini golf, games, balloon modelling and free face painting.

There will also be a variety of street food vendors to compliment Wilmslow’s array of restaurants, cafes and bars – many of which are hosting their own offers and events over the bank holiday weekend.
