“I have been coming here every year of my life.

“A lot of towns used to have processions and parades but with rising costs they haven’t been able to keep them going.

“Knutsford May Day is something different.

“It is one of the big events in our calendar.

“We must keep it going because once it’s gone, its never going to come back.

“The worrying thing is that when events like this go, they are never replaced.”

John’s family has been connected with running the May Day funfair since 1913.

This year, there will be around 30 big rides, 40 children’s rides and lots of little kiosks and games.

Atmosfear is on their most popular thrill rides.

Beach Buggys is one of around 40 children’s rides.

Booster Maxx is the tallest ride at 180 feet high.

The Police Station Fun House is one of the biggest in the UK.
