A CELEBRATED dairy in Knutsford which exports its products all over the world did itself proud at this year’s British Cheese Awards.
Delamere Dairy, based at Yew Tree Farm in Bexton Lane, supplies retailers nationwide and internationally, including Clitheroe-based luxury supermarket chain, Booths, who have a store in Knutsford.
Famed for its goat products, the company was founded in Delamere Forest by Liz Sutton and her late husband Roger, who led the company into a move to Knutsford and a diverse line of products including cow and sheep dairy.
Three of the company’s goats milk products were singled out by the British Cheese Awards 2024's esteemed judges: its goats butter was awarded a silver medal, and there were bronze awards for both its medium goats cheese, and spreadable goats cheese.
Delamere Dairy’s executive chairman, Ed Salt, said: “Delamere is delighted with its first award wins of the season for its goats’ butter and goats’ cheeses.
“In an arena of outstanding entries, it is delighted to be recognised for its goats’ products which are proving as popular as ever with the British public”.
The business started with just three goats in 1985, but have recently started to do more plant-based products with the brand Planted.
