POLICE clocked almost 40 drivers speeding on busy main roads in Knutsford.

Speed enforcement checks were carried out on Chelford Road and Chester Road.

Both roads have a 30mph speed limit.

Yet one motorist was caught hurtling along at 52mph.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “38 vehicles were caught speeding with the fastest going at 52mph, well over the allowed speed."

"Do not drive over the speed limit as the consequences can be quite traumatic.”

Officers regularly carry out speed checks and are constantly warning drivers of the dangers of travelling too fast.
