EYE-CATCHING pictures drawn by children decorate the hoardings of Wilmslow’s newest care home.

Pupils from Lacey Green Primary Academy were invited to create artwork on the theme of ‘who do you care about’ by Care UK’s Long Stone Manor.

Their colourful pictures of pets, animals, flowers and imaginative designs are on show at the site of the new care home due to open in early 2024.

Long Stone Manor will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 60 older people, with facilities including a cinema, hair salon, café and landscaped gardens.

As a thank you for their creativity and hard work, the school has received a £250 art voucher from the Care UK team.

Rachel Chapman, art teacher at Lacey Green Primary Academy, said: “We loved getting creative and seeing our students’ work displayed on the home’s hoardings for everyone to enjoy.

“We’re looking forward to coming back to the home once it’s complete and meeting residents.”

Joshua Jones, lead development manager for Care UK, said: “We’re thrilled with the wonderful artwork which is now on display at Long Stone Manor. It looks amazing.

“We were delighted to have collaborated with Lacey Green Primary Academy on this fantastic project and begin to build relationships with our new neighbours.

“We look forwards to working with the pupils on future projects and building intergenerational relationships, which are so important for older people, once residents begin to move in next year.”
