A NEW community noticeboard has been installed in Handforth.

A local homebuilder teamed up with the town council to share the cost.

Cllr Susan Moore, chairman of Handforth Town Council, said: “After speaking to residents at The Fairways, we have installed a new noticeboard at the front of the development to ensure that everyone can stay up to date with local events and activities.

“We’re grateful to Anwyl for partnering with us to fund half of the costs and helping us to bring the community together.”

Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “The noticeboard is a great addition to The Fairways.

“We thank the town council for making our new homeowners feel part of the wonderful wider Handforth community.”

Handforth Town Council also operates a virtual noticeboard on its website handforthtowncouncil.gov.uk

Launched by Anwyl Homes in 2020, The Fairways overlooks Styal Golf Course.

Since the development opened, the home builder has gifted almost £6,500 to the local community through a series of voluntary grants, many as part of its ‘Love from Anwyl’ fund.

This is in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process.

More than 80 per cent of the 224 homes have now sold.
