THE family of a 94-year-old woman who died after a fall at a care home have asked for an inquest to be held into her death after raising concerns over the care she received.
Joan Turnock was a resident at a Knutsford care home and died at Macclesfield District General Hospital on February 3, a coroner’s court heard.
Senior coroner for Cheshire Jacqueline Devonish opened the inquest into the death of Ms Turnock who died after a fall which led to her being taken to the hospital in Macclesfield where she later died.
The inquest was officially opened at Warrington Coroners Court on Wednesday following concerns raised by her family about the care she received during her time at the home.
This was adjourned to be heard on May 23, with a case review to be held prior to the inquest on April 21.
