A DRIVER caught speeding has avoided a ban to support a family member with 'health issues'.
Glenn Morse, of Hawthorn Street, Wilmslow, pleaded guilty to exceeding the 30mph speed limit at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on January 12.
The 58-year-old was caught on camera travelling at 37mph on Princess Road in Manchester on May 4, last year.
Magistrates did not to impose a totting disqualification due to mitigating circumstances.
The defendant told the court that a member of his family had 'health issues' and he himself was in debt.
Morse was fined £116 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £46 victim surcharge.
His driving licence was endorsed with three points.
Magistrates gave him until February 9 to pay the £247 court penalty.
