DRIVERS are putting lives at risk by travelling too fast, warn police.

In the latest road safety crackdown, five drivers were caught on camera speeding on Town Lane in Mobberley.

Armed with a radar gun, officers clocked one driver travelling at 40mph in a 30mph zone.

Similar checks on neighbouring roads over the past few months have caught many drivers breaking the law.

In a social media post, Knutsford police said: “A speed enforcement operation was carried out on Town Lane in Mobberley and five vehicles were caught speeding with the fastest going at 40mph on a 30mph zone.

“There's no need for speeding on that road as 30mph is plenty.”
