POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man wanted over the theft of meat from a Knutsford supermarket.

Officers were called to the Little Waitrose store on Princess Street, shortly after 3pm on Saturday, November 18 following reports of shoplifting.

It was the second time in four days that a large quantity of meat has been stolen from the same town centre shop by an unknown man.

A similar incident happened at around 6.50pm on Tuesday, November 14, when another man left the store without paying for a considerable amount of meat.

Officers investing the thefts have released CCTV images of both suspects and are appealing for help from the public.

PC John Milman, of Knutsford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing and as part of our investigation, we would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image.

“If anyone recognises this man, please contact us via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML-1694054."

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man pictured to come forward.”
