A CHARITY which has worked with Sir Bobby Charlton for 23 years has paid tribute to him.

The England legend sadly died on Saturday aged 86.

Sir Bobby was president of The Children's Adventure Farm Trust in Millington near Knutsford.

In a statement the charity said he will be sadly missed.

It added: "We are all so incredibly sad to hear the news of the passing of our wonderful, kind caring President Sir Bobby Charlton CBE.

"Our lovely Sir Bobby has been a friend to our charity for 23 years, he's done so much for the thousands of children we support each year and has remained committed to our work throughout, he will be sadly missed by us all at CAFT.

"We send our love and thoughts to Lady Norma and family."

CAFT provides holidays and days out for thousands of children across Warrington and the north west.

It helps young people with disabilities or those who need a break.

The charity has a shop in the centre of Knutsford.
